It&#39;s like sending my private journal to my friend through the mail or something. I have to assume someone may read it.</p><p>Email and IM is probably just as (in)secure as private posting, but for some reason I feel comfy sharing all types of secrets through those meduims. And it&#39;s crazy - <a href="http://www.benstanfield.com/thrash/2005/03/aol_eavesdrops_.html">AIM actually has large privacy issues</a>, yet to me it feels as safe as a face-to-face conversation.</p><p>But whatever. Thousands of people post privately on LiveJournal and MySpace.
